Autohosting Help Empty Autohosting Help

Post by Kurisu Mon Jan 11, 2010 3:43 pm

Make two editions of vamp speed please. Generally, people play with only one vamp on that game. Because it is crazy hard in the first 3 mins, the feed is divided, so it is crazy easy after that. If you use GHost One or GHost ++ to host, you cannot close that last slot automatically. Not good if you are AFK hosting.

Make another version that just has 11 players. This will allow us to host using these things to increase the popularity of VS and others.

Thank you for reading.

Kurisu, why do you think there are 10 human slots? there isnt any rule about you cant SHARE bases is there? 1 claw (attacks from vampires) + the other claw (the other vampires who destroy a base together) vs shared base heal wall + heal wall = average or build at base 33

I don't understand what you are saying. Is it too hard or too easy for humans if there are 2 vamps?

I don't understand how having 11 players will increase the popularity. Perhaps you mean to say it will increase popularity for bad players... I can't tell you how many times I spent 5 minutes explaining to people that 2 vamps is better than 1. Why? Because the odds that there is a good vamp in a public game are slim to none. We need to boost those odds by letting another player vamp.

Players need to learn that the game truly is 10v2. It is not 10v1. Why do you believe there are 2 slots for vamp? For inconvenience? Explain to me why we need to close the second slot, but even then, you likely won't get your wish.

It is for convenience of hosting. MOST EVSS games only have 1 vamp, to maximize game enjoyment. Even if I don't get my wish, I will do it myself, I was asking for support, not for criticism >.<. If there are two vamps, it is too hard for the humans before the time of 3 mins, at 5 mins, the feed has been split, so game becomes too easy for the humans. This allows us to show who knows how to play well enough to become 10v2 players. Most decent vamps prefer one vampire anyways, it allows them to get more gold for themselves and not split with the pathetic vampires.

This suggestion is so that the map maker (SaMmM currently, right?) can remove the excess triggers. It is not for general gameplay, just for autohosting. If no one wants to do it, I will just do it myself. I already have unprotected version of 2.48d that has the coding in it, so I can completely edit the map to my desires if I want, I just wanted the map maker to do it so he can make sure everything is ship shape.

Thing is most people in west are noobs like you know. For auto host he just wants a game with out the second vampire. It is to hard for noob humans. That is his point and people complain.

And I would tell that even a godly human player wouldn't have at least one worker die from alternating chains from 2 pro vamps, if they saw a base in one far sight.

I never played against two vamps but humans are at the max of 6(My PC is from the stone age). So I think it still goes as a fair match?

I usually advice 8 humans for 2 vamps, 4:1 ratio seems good already.

If it was reduced from 10 to 8 humans I can tell you right now that there would be a draw back from playing.

har har har, could be worse. There was a fail vampirism where it was 1:1 ratio of 12 players. It was a fail mod of fire. The vamps had the same strength as before. Needless to say, we lost -.-

I believe I speak for SaMmM when I say that if you were to edit the unprotected map and use it on battle.net you will be banned from:

The map
Every VS Clan channel that supports his cause
these forums
every bot that supports his cause

Don't speak for SaMmM, let SaMmM speak. That wasn't my intention, that is more of a last resort. Read the above posts more clearly.

Secondly, banning doesn't work if you guy you ban can change everything down to his MAC address... it would be a waste.

MAC address is less useful than IP address.... MAC address is associated to your computers physical location. IP address is associated to your network's virtual location.

You can easily ban members from these forums by requiring admin validation...
You can easily ban from ghost bots by IP. If you have to go through a proxy to play, the point is still made.
You can easily ban from channels by IP. If you have to go through proxy to join channel, the point is still made.

SaMmM will not return for 3 years. Someone needs to speak for him.

Changing MAC is easier than IP. IP can be changed by restarting your router. MAC requires a bit more technical skill. you should know that. So when I say "banning doesn't work if you guy you ban can change everything down to his MAC address... it would be a waste." It means, that I can change EVERYTHING down to my mac Address. So banning is a waste.

These forums do not have the capability to ban MAC addresses, it is not useful.
Also, banning a MAC address restricts your COMPUTER from entering an area. IP address restricts your entire network.

Anyway,

These forums have admin validation. Ban done.
Ghost and Stealth bots can ban by first 3 bytes. IP ban done without proxy.

The point is... SaMmM is not here. If you go against the community by making changes without the consent of the main developer and the community, I will do what I can to make sure you are exiled. I imagine others will join me.

Knowing "more than he does" about just anything isn't qualification in itself. I have a part of this community for a very long time and I, myself, develop a map. With 7 years of experience, I believe I can sympathize with SaMmM.

I can attain admin validation without use of anything fancy. These forums are easy to crack. I already tested it. If you want, i will have this thing completely inside out by next week, when I actually have time to watch it.

I control basically two bots in the channel.

Raphy is the master of Clan EVSS, we co founded it and agree on generally everything, he wouldn't ban me.

I am fine, I do not feel threatened. This isn't a contest, I was stating something earlier. If you continue with this, there is no point for me to go on with this rabble. Enjoy Very Happy
