combine item

There is a researche in mecanics and also a command in the [F9] commend, that say you can combine item in the slot 1 and 3

I would like to know which item can be combine

and also how to get the auto-turrets for a vehicule.

All of this is explained in the quests/upgrade tooltip. You get the upgrade, then you can combine items (for example, for the gun ups, you can combine ammo so save space, so instead of having a guy with 5 slots of 7 pistol ammo, you can get 1 slot of 100 ammo) Also, you upgrade and buy the autoturrents for the vech. You just put in the gun and it can autofire it..
